Aitch Group, the people behind both Blakes Golf and Blunts Farm have yet again proved to residents in the district that they seem to have little respect for them and their environment.
Last weeks Guardian reported 'Don't party here, urge victims of illegal rave' and this weeks report is 'Rave fear despite golf club's denial.'
The 'illegal rave' held at Blakes Golf on new years eve, with loud music and a laser show that disrupted residents from far and wide until 4 am new years day, confirms Theydon Bois Action Group's worst fears.

TBAG warned residents when EPF/2195/06 was received that although a golf course at the Blunts Farm site may seem like an appropriate use of the notorious Green Belt site, this development team only have their eye on the profits to be made from large scale landfill and large scale leisure complexes, however Cllr. Glozier accused us of 'spreading misinformation.'

An 'alternative view' expressed by a resident and published in the March edition of the Theydon Bois Village News said that Blakes Golf Course was 'not a pleasure dome with wild raves carried out all night long and hundreds of cars in and out till all hours!'
Well perhaps it is, perhaps residents of Bobbingworth would agree, and it seems more 'raves' are planned. The next rave, which is advertised on

is planned for 1st February with clubbers invited to 'a night you can't afford to miss' from 10pm until 4am.

We have no idea what Aitch Group have planned for both the Old Foresters site, behind Forest Drive and Blunts Farm. They have said that due to the 'global credit crunch' they no longer wish to develop a golf course. They have approached West Ham United PLC, West Ham have confirmed to TBAG that the 'decontamination' of the land would be a financial consideration before proceeding further with an application for a football academy.

The Guardian quotes a resident from North Weald, who fears that the venue could become a new equivalent Epping Forest Country Club at Chigwell he said 'While we fully supported a golf club or something along those lines when planning permission was given, I'm sure most residents wouldn't have wanted permission given for a country club-style venue.'

Baroness Andrews has stated that 'It is for the local planning authority to decide whether or not to take into account a developers previous conduct when considering a planning application.' Well perhaps the Noise Abatement Notice, along with the several Enforcement Notices that have been served on the owners, a subsidiary of Aitch Group will thwart their future plans in the area.
