Here is a selection of residents' letters.

"Well done to you all! Many thanks for all your hard work to protect the village we all enjoy living in." JH

"Thank you for explaining the document – the EDFC letter didn’t make much sense at all. Have lodged my concerns re our status as per your email, Thanks" FB

"Dear Sue Congratulations to you Jacq, Mike and all the other members of TBAG on a brilliant evening yesterday. It was a great sucess and you must all be very pleased about it. I am so glad that you raised such a magnificant sum of money, and even more importantly, that everyone seemed to enjoy them selves - so they might come to another event in the future! Well done very best wishes yours ever Eleanor Laing"

"Thanks for the info. Sorry to learn about all the problems you have had. Having been part of an action group which successfully stopped housing being built on community open space I know that you have to remain positive." S

"I have been approached by Emerging Property Partnership to invest in the site (unfortunately I appear to be on a mailing list for similar schemes). When I pointed out that the site was blighted they claimed that this had now been cleared and that the golf course was being laid. Is this true? If not I intend to report them to the appropriate authorities." DS

"Thank you for that, I suppose the economic slump does scupper the EFDC plan somewhat as well as developers won't be rushing into anything any time soon.
It appears the person(s) who own Blunts Farm are looking to do anything but farming judging by your website - motocross, car parks, etc.
I suppose having no houses on the south side of the tube line is going to be a matter of interest to the EFDC but I suppose we can just hope.
Thank you for your responses, it is very helpful. I have found a house and put an offer in and now I am getting the jitters imagining half of the village being turned into a building site - while the rest is being intermittently overrun with gypsies!
I am sure it won't be as bad as all that, but it does seem to be an uncertain time for the village. However TBAG does appear to be doing some very good work in keeping Theydon Bois' unique status as a rural village intact. If I move there I promise to be a supporter...cheers."

"Thank you for all your time and effort on this matter in trying to stop these sites going ahead." MB

"Thank you for this news letter, it's good that we are updated with regards to what's going on. I have no problem making a contribution to the TBAG funds and I will do so shortly. I have one question I would like to ask. The plan for Gypsies and Travellers to be located in our village will affect us all both financially and in our way of life, therefore why can't we raise, or ask for the funds raised from local events such as the Donkey Derby to be used against protecting what we truly love. Let's face it, once they are in, nothing will be the same or respected as it is now.....So let's protect it.
Regards & keep up your excellent work" PB

"I am a resident of Theydon Bois and firstly I would like to thank you for the excellent hard work this organisation performs. I myself have great concern over the proposal of the two Travellers sites that are to be located within our village. If there is anything I can do to help you with your campaign please do not hesitate to ask. Thanks once again, your work is appreciated by all the residents of TB" PD

"I am not too much into the village politics but I do know the good work the Action Group undertakes. We voted for mostly Independents I think with one exception. I can assure you we knew whom we were voting for. With regard to the letters it only goes to show that Colonel Blimp is alive and well. Ironically they may be right about the one-day scenario but I am sure that you good people will help to fight it until long after we are all gone." TC

"A golf course would have been LOVELY, but we all know (and are not naive enough to think it might be true) that the golf course would have never happened for a moment - "a proposed golf course" is developer speak for "multi millions out of landfill". KK

"How on earth can membership of a group designed to protect the village environment be a negative in terms of a person’s ability to be elected to its Parish Council? Not one iota of course and these people appear misguided, misinformed or mischievous." TH

"Is this not just another attempt to get use of the site changed and thence, after this has been agreed, to eventually allow them to exploit the site in ways that have already been proposed and rejected? The phrase Trojan Horse comes to mind." IM

"Great work. Congratulations." RN

"Thank you for email and thank you for your efforts." BP

"Well done TBAG!! What a supreme effort! We really do appreciate all the hard work and commitment that you have lately shown to keep the village 'OUR VILLAGE' and its tranquillity in tact; I shall delight in the peaceful ambience of a quiet Sunday in the garden." JC

"Well done to you all. This area of Theydon Bois needs a very careful eye kept on it." LS

"I have followed the work of the Action Group with interest and support. I would like to be kept up to date as things develop. All power to your collective elbows!" PB

"Excellent statement of the current situation and tax loophole. The law really does need to be changed, but in the meantime, District Councils could do more to prevent these scams." SW

"Just wanted to say thanks for all your fantastic lobbying work on behalf of the village and the district. I for one really appreciate it and am right behind you." JS

"Thanks interesting." MH

"Thank you for keeping us informed and for your efforts." RN

"Thanks for this--- it’s important that the message gets to all planners throughout the country. Let us hope that the Environment Agency manage to push through some legislation quickly." KR
